Event Requirements Guide

Timeline

Events are required to run between August 1 and September 30, 2025. These events must take place across a single weekend. Organizers may request adjustments to these requirements based on local factors, but applicants who can fulfill these requirements will be preferred.

Applications must be submitted on or before May 5, 2025. After application approval, Ghost Galaxy will reach out directly to the organizer for additional details, which must be finalized on or before June 6, 2025.

Scope

National Championships must include a main tournament for each of KeyForge’s primary competitive formats: Sealed, Archon, and Alliance (additional information on formats is available here). Tournaments must adhere strictly to format, structure, and legality guidelines in the Tournament Rules & Guidelines document.

Event venue must fit a minimum of 24 participants, but applicants proposing venues of 32 seats or more will be preferred. Organizers must avoid age-restricted venues and venues with political or religious associations.

Reporting

Each KeyForge deck has a 15-digit Deck Code. The deck codes for all decks used for every Top 8 finalist of each tournament will need to be gathered by the organizer and submitted to Ghost Galaxy after the event is completed.

Additional reporting will include: names and contact information of the Top 2 finalists, reasonable and tasteful video and photography of the event, and written post-event report.

Event Kit

Organizers are required to purchase an event support kit for $250 USD + Shipping + Duties to support the players attending their event. This event kit will support 32 players for three (3) tournaments. Purchase may be completed by major credit card only, and will be required before fulfillment.

Ghost Galaxy encourages event organizers to charge a reasonable entry fee to players participating in the event, to cover the cost of the event kit plus other reasonable expenses and outlays made to host the event.
