KeyForge Master Rulebook Updated to v17.2
The KeyForge Master Rulebook (MRB) is the comprehensive rules of play for the game of KeyForge. It is the game’s most authoritative source and contains a detailed glossary, official errata, frequently asked questions, and a timing chart. It is primarily a reference document to help players find answers to specific questions. We update this rulebook periodically as new cards sets are released and as new questions arise about how to resolve various card interactions that occur during games.
Note that if you’re new to KeyForge, the best ways to learn how to play the game are to read Learn to Play KeyForge and to watch our video tutorial.
WHAT’S NEW IN VERSION 17.2?
This is a housekeeping update to the MRB focused on clarifying several cards for Grim Reminders. It includes an update to the glossary definition of Scrap, several new FAQ entries, and errata for several cards. Let’s take a closer look at these changes.
UPDATED GLOSSARY
Scrap is a new mechanic for Grim Reminders. Its glossary definition was first introduced in during development and had since changed. Scrap abilities only resolve when a card is discarded from your hand, during your turn.
Questions answered
There are new FAQ entries for Paradox Shield and Curse of Cowardice (both are new cards from Grim Reminders) and a new FAQ for an existing card, Mimic Gel.
NECESSARY ERRATA
Duskwitch is card originally introduced in the Age of Ascension set. During the transition to Forgefire, this card’s text was updated and inadvertently changed an existing interaction. All versions of Duskwitch should read:
Omega. Elusive.
Your creatures enter play ready.
Glimmerspore and Yipyax Abductor are two new cards from Grim Reminders. Both shared the same ability template which did not function as expected.
Yipyax Abductor should read:
Play/After Fight: Put an upgrade from play into your archives. If you are not the owner of that card and it leaves your archives, put it into its owner’s hand instead.
Glimmerspore should read:
Play: Put an artifact from play into your archives. If you are not the owner of that card and it leaves your archives, put it into its owner’s hand instead.
Shrink-ray Technician should read:
After Reap: Choose an enemy creature. It gets –2 power until the end of the turn.
Scrap: Choose the most powerful enemy creature. Until the end of the turn, that creature is considered to have 1 power and 0 armor.
