Florence Vault Tour Results

Published On: October 24, 2023

Florence, Italy is known worldwide as a center of culture, art, and architecture. In recent years, you can add KeyForge to the list. Certainly the latter was proved true by the 137 fierce Archons who descended upon the city to participate in three action-packed days of gaming and competition. Their presence made this the largest Vault Tour of the 2023 Organized Play season. Congratulations to AZ Card & Games, our partner, who made the event such a success!

At the conclusion of the event, two new champions were crowned and each awarded the top prize of $3,000—one for the Archon tournament and one for the Alliance tournament. The two runners-up in each tournament received a $1,000 prize and the third and fourth-place finishers in both tournaments walked away with $500 each. The top four finishers in each tournament who didn’t already have invitations to the 2023 KeyForge World Championship received invitations in addition to the cash prizes. This accommodated the invites that would have been given out during a Nationals tournament, but could not be ran due to scheduling constraints.

Tournament Stats

Archon featured 84 participants. Mass Mutation was the popular choice among the masses, fielding the most decks at 27. Winds of Exchange and Call of the Archons were nearly tied for the second spot at 17 and 16 respectively. All of the Crucible’s wonders saw some representation, with at even one Vault Masters 2023 in the mix.

In contrast to the art loving city itself, the people of Florence vastly preferred the cold, hard science of Logos at 48 appearances. There appeared to be nothing fishy going on as Unfathomable was represented in only 8 decks. Here’s the full house breakdown:

  2. Dis (41 decks)

Hard Work and Special Thanks

Team GG (no relation) and AZ Card & Games ran a fantastic event with two tournaments and plenty of side events including Sealed and Second Æmber. They provided a significant amount of prizing from Ghost Galaxy as well as their own stock of items. Everything we have heard from the event paints it as a major success. We want to again thank these partners for their hard work and dedication to KeyForge. So once again, Team GG and AZ Card and Games, thank you!
